Meet Andrea Gourdine

Andrea is a Senior Development Manager for Douglas Development Corporation.  She is primarily responsible for the development process for Douglas’ Washington, D.C portfolio including hiring design teams, presenting projects at neighborhood meetings and civic associations, testifying as project owner for required Zoning Commission and Board of Zoning Adjustment hearings, and coordinating consultant’s plan submissions to District agencies for permit approval.   She has also operated as a Construction Manager on a variety of historic redevelopment projects located in the Chinatown, Shaw, Ivy City and Georgetown neighborhoods.  Prior to joining Douglas Andrea worked in acquisitions for Bio-Med Realty Trust, and in investment management for John Hancock Investments/Manulife Financial.

Andrea currently serves as a member of the Women’s Leadership Initiative Steering Committee of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).  Prior re-joining ULI Andrea served on two sub-committees with the District of Columbia Building Industry Association (DCBIA).  Her passion for community service and neighborhood redevelopment is evident through her board leadership with Goodwill of Greater Washington’s Young Professionals Council, Shaw Main Streets, and Tenleytown Main Streets.  Andrea has a B.A. from the University of Connecticut and an M.B.A. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
