Lab Support Oversight

Serves as the main point of contact for the Facilities Lab Support Team.
Develops, interprets, and implements policies and procedures.
Maintain a laboratory equipment inventory control for the site.
Ensures that staff are trained in complex maintenance activities and are following standard operating procedures.
Establish and maintain relationship with client end user (Lab Coordinators and Researchers).
Orders materials and supplies; assists in the monitoring and tracking of expenditures for the team.
Coordinates maintenance activities with other departments, including scheduling and resolving problems; coordinates and inspects work performed by contractors.
Ensures that that proper safety practices are followed.
Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks independently.
Responds to emergencies as requested coordinates activities, directs the work of staff, and utilization of resources to effectively address emergencies associated with client equipment.
Perform a variety of equipment maintenance tasks, PM’s and work orders.
Prepares records related to the work performed, and materials / supplies used.
Enters purchasing requests and work orders in the computerized maintenance management system.
Experienced in the technical operation and maintenance of autoclaves, rack washers, HVAC systems, ultra-low temperature refrigeration systems, centrifuges, incubators, air tables, and miscellaneous lab equipment.
Able to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment and systems.
Maintain and implement operational, preventative, and predictive maintenance procedures and guidelines.
Knowledge of CMMS.
Planning, detail oriented, flexible, good negotiation, and communication skills (verbal and written), ability to work well with others, and must have a strong sense of commitment.
Proactive in leading the Lab Support Team and staying aligned with the Labs / LC’s within the facility.
Provides direction / information to vendors, facilities staff and service providers as needed or requested.
Supports and provides input for the Operational Compliance Plan.
Seeks to continuously improve processes, systems, and overall client satisfaction.
Performs additional job duties as requested.
Any and all other duties and task assigned
Train team members on lab equipment, SOP’s, troubleshooting, etc.
Responsible for carpentry shop and all associated request.
Maintain all KPI & SLA.
CMMS work order updating and tracking.
Support NGM maintenance program.
Support JCAP program.
Any other work activities as directed.
